Since my intent this year is to fish the BFL Okie division I just fished this one because I was in the area, ok I wasn't in the area, I drove 500 miles round trip to come down, but I'm itching to fish something so here I am. Probably should have saved my money, didn't get proper prefish time but I was able to get a solid Senko bite and a 6th Sense Crush 50x bite which unbelieveably got me a check. I came really, really close to not going to the weith in since I ran across Dicky earlier and he had a good sack..would have been over a $300 mistake on my part, you just never know in this crazy sport. Congratulations to my man Newberry for his 8000th BFL win!

Tough tournament on us even though the results don't show it. We struggled all day, catching, well not a lot, and those that we catch are relatively small until Newberry picks up an A-rig and pulls it down a deep tree line. He starts with "there's one", moves a couple seconds later to "this may be a good one", to 'let's net this one". So I get down to get the net out of the floor, one problem, he's standing in it, then the fish wallows (I think that's a word), I'm bent over trying to get him to step out of the boat and when he sees the fish he goes up about 4 octaves to "big fish big fish big fish", couple of seconds and some pushing and shoving later we net a 10.76, amazing what that will do to for you in a 3 fish limit tournament. From zero to hero, big bass, 2 new Abu Garcia Revo's and a nice check for big bass and a nice check for 5th place finish!
